Because ... Baby Hedgehogs

If America were really exceptional, it would have hedgehogs.  They can be sad as they're like turtles and don't well understand cars.  They think curling up a ball will protect them from just about anything and usually that's true ... but not with cars.

No gardener will get sad about hedgehogs as they eat snails and slugs like they're potato chips.  Cats and dogs apparently don't tangle with them as it seems they know better.

Here at the Rockhouse we would get the biggest bang out of poking around in the garden and seeing a fearless li'l hedgehog rooting around in there.  Alas, zero hedgehogs in the Americas.

The beauty part is some genius thought every creature represented in Shakespeare should also be present in America and this person is reputed to be the one who brought starlings over here.  They're the Republicans of ornithology as starlings lay their eggs in the nests of other birds and then take everything for themselves so the other baby birds die.

(Ed:  that's not much of a beauty part)

So this guy who thought starlings, horrible animals that they are, were so vital but he did not bring any hedgehogs.  There are two possibilities and the first is he was as dumb as one of those birds or perhaps he was adhering strictly to the premise of his effort, only creatures represented in Shakespeare can come.  That being the case, it's Shakespeare's fault their are no hedgehogs in America because he failed to mention them in his writing.

A marginally-related beauty part is that some kid caught half a dozen or so lizards in some other country and 'forgot about them' when coming home.  Descendants of those lizards can now be seen anywhere in Cincinnati where they have established a stable breeding population.  We don't know if starlings eat them, tho.

Women in Sport - Boxing or Volleyball

There were many headlines today about some girl who can kick the shit out of other girls in a boxing ring.  That's as sexy as anything else which doesn't have dead puppies in it but our tastes run a little higher ... or at least dirtier.

We're quite sure there will be no punching in this event.  Play ball, girls.

Boxing or volleyball, how should I decide.

The Guidos Are Coming

There was an advisory today that if I do anything further with music then the Department of Homeland Security will send The Guidos to ensure this time it stops once and for all.  The Guidos won't shoot me as their usual modus operandi is to drown people in suntan oil.  Actually, they give people two choices:  drown in the suntan oil or live in New Jersey.  Most prefer drowning.

The beauty part is all of them are running for President but the twist is they present a package deal.  Bill Clinton once said his was a two-for-one deal but The Guidos offer you five-for-one.

The Guidos tell you don't hire amateurs anymore.  These Republicans and Democrats just make a mess out of everything but when The Guidos say something needs killin' then you know we will get it killed.  We gots connections in Joisey, see.

We're the Guidos and we will make you an offer you can't excuse.

"Hotel Serengeti 2100 - A Song for Cecil the Lion" (video) #WalterPalmer

A protest of the shooting of Cecil the Lion by Walter Palmer.  There are no bloody images in the video but it's not suitable for young children due to sardonic references to what happened.  There is no street language but the concept of being deliberately bad in representation of something preventable may be beyond them.

The tone overall is positive as I do believe we can make it stop and that's explicitly the point in the video.  Every trophy killing is a disgrace to the animal and a theft from us all.  The video is based on a suggestion from Cat Boucher.

Cat and I talked as she is furious in the same way.  She said she liked the song and suggested making a video.  We talked some more and the Song for Cecil happened.  Please share if you feel it's a strong protest of trophy killing as this is non-profit.  The song is not for sale and I don't even collect click charges for hits on my videos.

So it's all about Cecil.  We won't shoot anyone but this we can do.

If killing animals really did anything for conservation, rapists could restore virginity in the world.

Note:  I may put the song on my next CD but that's maybe, maybe, maybe stuff.  I don't even know if I will release the CD.

We must tell you we put a wee signature in the video.  Unknown if you will spot it.

And one for Fellini ... it's even got meerkats.

For me this is techno beat poetry as it should be in a 50's coffee shop with a lot of beatniks on intravenous espresso IVs ... and snapping their fingers a lot ... and saying 'dig it' all the time.  Here in the Rockhouse we have a knack for making genres which haven't the faintest profit potential.

First Review of "Hotel Hilton Serengeti 2100" / "The Cecil Song"

Yevette heard "Hotel Hilton Serengeti 2100" first and her reaction was the music was good but she had not much use for the voice.  She thought that Barry White voice was too much, too powerful, etc.

Fair enough as that's what she heard.  That's not my first preference for what she would hear as the big win, here and in Germany, is 'that was fucking cool.'  There is another ultimate compliment when another musician calls your play 'tasty' but that one is too much inside whereas everyone knows what 'fucking cool' means.

Yevette mentioned Barry White as anyone with a deep voice has to be Barry White because he so owns that style but that's the only resemblance I heard in it.  My thinking was more toward Max Headroom, a processed electro-voice which is still human ... but only just.  Proto-Max wasn't trying to Barry White as I was actively aware of affecting any mannerism which might be thought 'pretending to be black' or pretending to be an African.

There may be another shot at the song as the content is important to me and I like the dynamics of the musical aspect of the song.  There's more more freedom to do that in making tracks rather than using a looper and that still doesn't make me love making tracks but it's a good payoff.  There is no thinking toward changing the music particularly but there may be another go at the vocal.  My feeling is it has to be spoken rather than sung but not as some old guy rap.  That would be fine, it just isn't this song.

The vocal is the second live take as I junked the first, smoked a bowl, and went straight into another one.  There was no script to it because the first 'process' in what I'm doing is always impressionism.  Maybe it turns out to be a bad impression but that's what it was at that time.  That's an article by itself and the point just now is there's no reason to adhere to what was recorded in that track as that was what occurred to me at that time.  Maybe something altogether different comes if I do it again.

Singing it does not strike me as appropriate as Cecil was the King and singing some blues song for him is anemic.  We want to show some power for the King as that's his world and making wimpy love songs is mine, at least when my world is not starting fires, etc.

The song is important to me as trophy killing exemplifies a sociological phenomenon of entitlement for rich white people in which anything goes so long as you have enough money to bribe people to do it.  I like it that this topic addresses that theme without any need to hammer it by stating it specifically.  It's also true the Serengeti will become like Miami Beach ... if we let it.  Seeing the Serengeti has been a dream all my life and I doubt I'll make it but I absolutely want it to be there just as it is now for some other kid who does manage to pull off that dream.

"Hotel Hilton Serengeti 2100" - Silas Scarborough (audio) - Response to Cecil and Jericho

Already I have written about Cecil the Lion and his brother, Jericho.  There was a song I had in the background but I didn't have anything in particular to do with it so I thought I would try a spoken response as another track.  The song is high techno with no guitar and it feels kind of daring as this isn't what I do but the result makes the sound or at least the protest I want.  (Ride the Dragon podcast: "Hotel Hilton Serengeti 2100")

Hopefully you will not be deterred by the sardonic references to Walter Palmer but the song overall has a bigger message than cynicism.  We can make it stop.  I won't be around to answer to the kids but you will.

The song is not a lament for Cecil and Jericho but rather a picture of what I see in the Hotel in 2100 after the Walter Palmers have wiped out all the animals and people only come to the Serengeti for the parties.  Using electronica for a song of this nature may seem misplaced but that is the music I foresee for such a time.  That may seem disrespectful but it was not my intention.

This was not a trivial exercise to me and I hope the song has meaning to you.

Of course this is dedicated to Cat.  We can make this stop.

Killing Cecil Wasn't Enough

Cecil the Lion was only shot a few days ago but there is still his brother, Jericho.

Cat doesn't like it that much of what I write seems negative but there is purpose as I was only a part of the outrage but it ran Walter Palmer, the Minnesota dentist who killed Cecil the Lion, right out of town and has shut down his business indefinitely.

Today someone shot Jericho and now he also is dead.  There doesn't seem to be any knowledge of who did it other than to say they were poachers.

-- Insert a virulent blast at rich people who take their amusement in finding beautiful things and killing them --

These people have so much money it corrupts the laws of the country where they kill these animals and there's a death ripple that goes out from what seems like a single killing, washing out the animals it kills, the people who help and commit the crimes for the money, the government which is torpedoed by bribery to permit such killing, etc, etc.

And then we get to the cubs who probably have no chance, at least according to anything I have read.

Walter Palmer could still recover what, presumably, was once a good name.  If he were to go back to Zimbabwe and provide dentistry for free then that would be much better than jail.  That seems a respectable way to prove repentance and provide a dearly-needed service at the same time.

"Officer, the Girlfriend Let the Cat Eat Me Bacon" (video)

This is not The Cat but rather A cat.  The speaker is trying English but he's British and hence the subtitles.

Frankly, we don't know the moral to this story.

- Don't take up with girls who give your bacon to cats

- Be man enough to fight the cat for the bacon

- Why did you ever let a cat in the house.  Little sumbitches will eat your reefer too.

Music by Silas Scarborough.  The spoken bit seems to be a true recording and here's the news link.  (The Register:  Buffoon in 999 call: 'Cat ate my bacon and I want to press charges')

"The Lady is a Tramp" - Sian Lesley (video)

People talk of 'fat shaming' sometimes but it usually comes from lardasses who are too lazy to exercise.  So, what's your guess for Sian Lesley's age?

The ones who talk of 'fat shaming' do tremendous harm to women as they're the enablers for the crowd who will never have sex again except from some guy who believes he is doing charity work.  This crew gains five kilos a year from the day they're conceived and, by the time they're forty, they are the size of a Winnebago and can only be moved by heavy-duty construction equipment.  Miss Plus Size on the journo squad will tell you this is normal ... if you and two or three others can pull her away from the buffet.

You can bash the U.S. all day long and they won't do anything but if you call them fat then they will burn your house down.  Don't worry about them doing anything to you because the fat fuckers can't catch you.  Donald Trump keeps ranting about Mexicans because they come from the only country in which people are, on average, fatter than Americans and thus they're the only ones Trump, the King of Corpulent Cacophony, can catch too.

Oh, and Sian Lesley is sixty-three years old.  Now that's some real American exceptionalism.  (Daily Mail:  The 63-year-old with a figure women in their twenties will envy! Former Vegas showgirl reveals her secrets to looking young... and admits she enjoys treats and a glass of wine)

Tip:  she's not American.  She just plays one in Vegas.

These revolting beasts are what motivated the article:

Obviously not one of them owns an exercise bike but how many do you think own guns.  A gun isn't much of a substitute for a sex life but they keep trying it in America.

I want to see them dance in black thong swimsuits with little tuxedo bowties.  Who's with me.  How about they do a three-man cover of "Rebel Yell" ... what do you say?

In the midnight hour, she cried more, more, more
With a rebel yell, she cried more, more, more
In the midnight hour, babe, more, more, more
With a rebel yell, more, more, more, more, more, more

Words those disgusting fatbodies at the car wash ... will never hear.

Because ...

This is what they know of manhood:

The Motor is Only a V8 ... But It's a Ferrari V8

Sure, it's only a V8 but it makes 660 bhp and turns a zero to sixty time of three seconds.  Flat.  This motor will send Mustang Boy crying home to the King of the Cowboys, whining about why was he never told about anything this cool as now he's stuck with years of payments on a crumby Mustang.

Ladies, and gentlemen, the Ferrari 488 Spider:

And now you know why Italy builds Mustangs.

(Ed:  Ford builds Mustangs)

Yes but they do it in Italy ... to divert Americans away from the Ferraris.

(Ed:  Ferrari costs much more)

Of course it does but you've got to ask yourself if seek only cheap crap like a Mustang or if you are truly an aficionado.  Are you Top Gear or are you only Fox News.

In fact, Fox News is a lot like a Ford Mustang in that it spends a lot more time than is necessary to inform people it is not gay.  Frankly, we don't believe either of them.

Palaver with Cadillac Man About the Revolution

The first question after the Revolution is what to do with one hundred and fifty million Republicans.  Their fat consumption is exceptionally high so it wouldn't be healthy to eat them but they might be suitable as bait for sharks.  A good way to save the seals is to give the sharks Republicans instead.

(Ed:  I did not realize seals are endangered)

They are when a great white shark spots them.

As idyllic as it may seem to review a panorama of Republicans being eaten by sharks, we revolutionaries had to move to more strategic matters as still there was not much focus on Lenin.  He wanted everything that terrifies conservatives, create a socialist world.  However, the idealism of that Marxist / Leninist view gets rolled with Stalinist brutality with the effect of denigrating the consequence of each of them.

In identifying Stalin with Communism, it excuses him as the inherent evil of Communism made him helpless to do anything except serve the machine, even when that service was ruthless and deadly.  It excuses him from being a power-mad psychopath.

Characterizing Communism that way marginalized the thinking of Marx and Lenin and this is the basis for the fear and loathing for socialism on Fox News.  Communism became a totalitarian state with police death squads and spies everywhere.  The reason for flogging the point is this state is something Stalin created and was not inherent in the socialist vision of those who created the system in the first place.

For this reason I do not believe full-scale socialism has been adequately tested because it was corrupted by those with lesser ideals not long after its inception.

Socialism is implicit in government anyway and the only reason for discussion is a question of degree.  Why people get so frothy over it remains unclear as the same people get filthy rich either way.  They always do as people who are good at getting rich will find a way.  It's a skill and not everyone has it.  Not all of it is crooked either ... just most of it.

Whether the system is capitalist or socialist is irrelevant to the rich as they're exceptionally bright people and can rig any financial system while making it look like they do you a favor.  According to the textbook, there should be a more equitable distribution of resources in a socialist economy but it's never had a good enough test so who knows if the textbook lies.

The beauty part of this is I'm toast in the Revolution as both of my brothers would cap me.  They wouldn't have a choice as there is so much the premise socialism will take something away from them that they must do whatever is necessary to prevent that from happening.  Putting a bullet in me on that basis is logical but what is not logical is what got them to that point in the first place.

Clinton reveals paying forty-three million in federal taxes but that's still small change next to those who need to convince you of the destructiveness of socialism as the real 1% crowd can buy South Dakota and use it for a barbecue pit if it likes.  A vast amount of the world's wealth is held by an exceptionally small number of people, all of whom will be more than willing to spend whatever is necessary to convince you socialism is the worst thing which could possibly happen.

Welcome to Fox News.
