Seeing the first Iris of the Spring is nice, very nice but there was an even better sign with the morning mail which delivered the Rasta Hat from the House of Nubian in NYC and it's even better than in the advertisement.
A picture is worth a thousand words ... or ten thousand of mine ... soooo ...
And I didn't even need a parrot to fill it out after all. I love this hat and that's got to mean ganja cannot be far. The Rasta Hat won't tell me where, tho. It just sez, dumb ass, hats can't talk.
Normally I hate hats because they're tight and they give me headaches but this one is stretchy knit and feels like it's all full of ganja goodness.
The image is the Lion of Judah and that's how Rastas refer to the Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia who may have a credible claim of a direct line of descendants to the times of King Solomon. He is said to be the 225th descendant in that line. Ethiopia never rolled over for European imperialism and is greatly admired in Africa for that reason. Other countries have even adopted Ethiopia's colors for their own flags when they achieved independence.
Rasta is everywhere and Rastas often say 'one love' but there is only one love and we do or we don't. Here at the Rockhouse, we definitely do. Rasta!
