Back story is two known live skin cancers (not melanoma) but next procedure was not possible until August. Assume the editorial regarding insufficient resources, insufficient funding for VA, etc.
There was a call from Dallas today with notice of a cancelation, can I be there this week. Roger that.
The situation is not generally terrible as skin cancers are slow-growing but malignant in anything is a scary word. The adroit manner in which they have handled this is most helpful but that's in itself a bit scary as why would they jack me so far forward when surely there are so many others. Whatever their logic, it's on for this week and I definitely don't want to make a soap opera out of this but the matter won't be closed with this event.
There is one saving grace since it's extremely unlikely to become a (cough) pain in the ass because, honey, that really is somewhere the sun don't shine.
Veterans Administration is often bad-mouthed for incompetence and all manner of things but my experience is they work as hard as they can with the resources they've got to cover as many as they possibly can. A great deal of the resource problem could be mitigated by expanding the VA clinic in Fort Worth into a full hospital facility and that direction, I understand, has been established but someone has to pay for it.
As we saw with Hillary Clinton, she wouldn't even comment until she had consulted with her Klown Squad so you know she won't do anything. Bernie Sanders has been working to improve VA funding for years and there's no chance he will wobble.
The Veterans Administration is like no other public office you ever saw. There are no surly, arrogant people who act as if they disburse funds from their own pockets. This has been my only medical resource for some years and I have seen well the dedication of the VA staff, almost all of whom are ex-military.
Whether you were in-combat makes no difference to them whatever except in terms of priority for treatment. Injuries sustained in combat are the highest priority and of course they should be but the point is the VA motto, some gave all and all gave some. They treat all the same when it's your turn.
The Veterans Administration is a unique entity as I've never seen anything like it. It's possible there is less arrogance within it than you may find in anything else. These are people who have seen things other people don't see and the perspective changes in ways which can't really be explained any better than the motto says it, some gave all and all gave some.
Lotho had kind of a party tour as he spent all his time at Clark AFB in the Philippines and it sounded like he had a high old time with some hell-raisers over there. Even that awakens things as all around you, every minute, is the knowledge this is the middle of the war machine and everything here is for killing something.
The way the Army did it was to remind relentlessly, no matter what your primary job function, your second MOS is Eleven Bravo Thirty (infantry).
Lotho, did it affect you all that much?? This was post-Vietnam so that specter is out of it but still it's obviously the heart of the evil beast.

There was no killing during my time. And it didnt change me much at all.
But you talk of increasing VA funding. Bernies healthcare budget reduces funding for all people to VA levels. So which is the answer the system works well at those levels or it is under funded at those levels It cant be both. And your experience proves it is far its head at those levels
PS those are Bernies funding numbers
Actually, in a one-payer system, perhaps VA does not even exist. If there's really equal medical access for everyone, it doesn't seem VA would be necessary. I would want to see, maybe, some special provision for rehab or so for wounded veterans but if this system is made right perhaps that wouldn't be necessary either, it all becomes part of the same thing.
Maybe it was the immediacy then as there was no question of the mission on my end. This is specifically to learn how to kill people. To this day that vibrates but mostly it was the reaction of people to it. Been through that before, tho.
Elimination of VA makes no difference assimilate them into your one payer system. He still only budgets the same for everyone as is budget presently for VA. And that system doesnt work
He cant cut the healthcare costs by 2/3rds and expect just changing to a one payer system solves that.
VA is essentially a one payer system now. And at presenting funding levels doesnt work
I mean in terms of merging infrastructure, etc. It's extreme to say VA doesn't work as it could be more efficient but broken is something I chuck out immediately because there's no possible salvage. Not sure if I read too much but it seems doesn't work means throw it out and do something else.
No doesnt work means huge wait times for procedures(as you have proven) managers manipulating procedures times to gain bonuses(a proven systemic issue)
old outdated equipment and facilities.
Doesnt work
You and I will never agree on the solutions.
Just as banks should not be so big Or any company for that matter. Government should not control regulate and tax everything moving
Well, that's nicely defeatist, isn't it!
Hate to be too much the schoolmarm but we already agree banks should not be so big and neither should corporations.
Was that so hard?? (larfs)
dont understand the larfs. as you are spending us into obilivion
Do you and the Bern hand out toilet paper at the rallies
Because that is the only thing you dont have givernment controlling
wiping of the arse that is
I'm spending you into oblivion?? To my knowledge, I have not started any unjustified wars nor have I ordered any unnecessary aircraft carriers or caused an enormous number of injuries which require lifetime care.
Please do refresh my memory if I am wrong on that.
Toilet paper at rallies?? This can't be Lotho. Must be Donald Trump.
Wiping the arse?? Definitely Donald Trump as, if ever I saw an arsewipe, he's the one! ... unless it's Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton ... or Ted Cruz or Mitch McConnell ... or (larfs some more).
This ain't Lotho. Dunno who plays today but he has a better game, fo' real.
as the rappers say
peace out
Pompous that I don't start wars or buy aircraft carriers?? Um, maybe (larfs).
