"Swing Heil" #Poetry

Swing heil, swing dance
we won't take that NAZI romance
we only want our music
and we just came out to dance
the bravest kids who ever lived
had danced amid the turmoil
while the world got steadily hateful
and came to murderous boil

The Fascists hated swing kids
and probably do today
but those kids rose up unarmed
and they only had to say,
"Swing heil, motherfucker,
it's for the music, for the peace
and only through swing music
can Nirvana ever be reached"

We don't see those Swing Kids now
but they didn't see them then
before the NAZIS started killing
they were just dancers way back when
They were the swingers, they were lovers
and all came from the Left
They were smart and they were talented
and there was nobody else

There were smart ones with the NAZIs
serial killers need a plan
but the Swing Kids saw right through them
and took Goodman but thank you, man
NAZIs believe their Reich
but Swing Kids believe in us
Especially the ones with music
too bad NAZIs missed the bus

They've tried their cruelty and their guns
but it hasn't done a thing
when that's only made more misery
and freedom doesn't ring
but music brings the light
and does it every time
where you don't need a weapon
you only need a rhyme
