Unknown About Science Today in the Midwest

Maybe you wonder what science ever came out of the Midwest but that one is easy:  we get it from somewhere else.  However, those sciencers actually have lives so we don't hear much from them on the weekends.  That's when I'm forced to my own resources and we end up with pictures from the Westminster dog show.

Fiona, darlin' ... I'm not sure how to break it to you ... this might not be your time for First Prize at Westminster.

By now y'all know Midwest is the code for any cancer bits as we won't let it get out of hand on Ithaka by metastasizing to other articles any more than we will let it get out of hand in real.  Today was a bitch for Yevette and there will be no details since this is not a Pity Party.  When Fiona doesn't feel sorry for herself, how can we.  Yevette doesn't and she is hanging tough with it.

Watson:  I have news since Fiona is not a dog.  She's a baby hippo at the Cincinnati Zoo.

Don't tell her that.  When she was born the first thing she saw was a dog and now she barks and likes to play Frisbee.  You haven't really traveled the world until you have played Frisbee with a hippo.

Tactical came up with a cool move since he found a way to fiddle with that old TV to make it work a whole lot better.  The image was triplicated and gave me headaches but now it looks much, much improved and gives a good respite for Yevette.  Support really dances with this and it makes me proud to see.  We hear all the time what manly means and blah, blah, blah.  Tactical was getting it done.

The helpless bits are the worst ... but ... Yevette came up with an idea for some food which was a bit unusual but she scarfed it on down.  That was a surprise win so now I don't feel quite so useless and maybe I will be cool enough to hang out with Fiona again.

Watson:  we don't care how you feel; we want to know how she feels

Fair enough but I can only tell you that indirectly so I tell you that chow helps and hopefully that will be a useful part of the nutrition plan which is highly-sophisticated in terms of get any food into her she can tolerate.  Even an old stoner understands rules like that and so far it goes ok since she hasn't been going hungry for something I failed to provide.  Just now, there is no worse juju than that, mates, but it's been going ok and some of it has been surprising for how much she liked it.

If anything comes out of this which might be worthwhile as a lesson, I'll throw it out here but right now it's all observational and reactive ... which really just means roll with it.

Watson:  and keep an eye out for the dogs?

Oy, Fiona is a hippo, mate.
