I hear all this crap about how the VA is such an inefficient corrupt pile of wastage but it's false, extremely cynical hogwash. If you look into any organization you will probably find corruption in it somewhere, even the Vatican. To characterize all of the Veterans Administration as corrupt is a gross insult and disrespect for veterans since many work for the organization. For face time in the clinics and hospitals, everyone I have met has been a veteran, whether employed or volunteer.
Dr Sam was talking to me and I asked about the system the VA uses for medical dispatching. He said it may be the best he has seen. He's a doctor with zero arrogance and highly approachable and we talked of it a little. He said it was a complex and difficult system to learn but the power and capability of it was extraordinary. His full name is Dr Sam Buchanan and he is one down home Fort Worth guy as he was born here.
It can easily take half an hour to find a parking space over at Dallas VA and get inside. That's not corruption but rather massive lack of capacity. Part of that is because Fort Worth doesn't have a facility of that capability.
The problem is most emphatically resources notwithstanding the wild-eyed condemnation of the organization by the GOP. Their protests are cynically-motivated because they want to privatize it. They say it's to make it more cost-effective for veterans but it's a damn lie as I can't afford any insurance and privatizing the VA is a death sentence.
Whoa, whoa, they will give me a tax break. But so what. I don't have enough income to pay taxes and any break is irrelevant. For a significant part of my life I was paying taxes on an income of six figures so don't even grasp at the thought I haven't ponied up a pile into the Federal coffers. I was filing individually because I wasn't married at the time and the Fed is hungry for you then. No-one gets taxed higher than individual and I had almost nothing for deductions. The Fed was licking its lips when I was coming around.
I've paid my fucking dues so where is the state?

Waiting 6 months for the next step proves an broken system wether because of personnel or funding.
And to say that the system is not corrupt with all the investigations over the last several years of altering document and forging wait times so the administrators received thier bonuses is absolutely corrupt.
The fact that America treats thier veterans this way is obscene. If these men were injured in car wrecks the lawyers wouldvturn then into millionaires
You can always find corruption just as they did in Vatican Bank, etc. Even there, they root out sleaze all the time. Congress is corrupt to the gills, etc, etc.
I won't give Congress any kind of a pass and one piece of evidence on that is when Clinton was asked for her thoughts on VA in the debate, she said she would get back to us. That's a Senator and that one hadn't even thought of it. As I'm sure you know, other Senators have been deliberately cutting back appropriations. I'm sure you know who did that.
I see the lack of capacity every time I go to VA and it should make any American weep to know how large the hospital parking lots have to be to support all the veterans and how they're always full. The heartbreaker is most have no idea.
