It's All in Your Frame of Reference as Andrew Jackson Rates No. 9 in Presidents

As we know from reviewing a singularly bloody history, Andrew Jackson wasn't much of a President; he wasn't even much of a human being.  However, Cadillac Man found a set of ratings for President on WIKI which notched Jackson at No. 9.  My frame of reference is observation of one of the worst cases of genocide in human history.

Cadillac Man disagrees with my rating for Andrew Jackson and his frame of reference is the same as mine in living through the singularly bloody history with Richard Nixon.  While I share that frame of reference with him and have multiple personal reasons for extreme contempt for the way he ran the country, I do observe some things about his record which were even notable.

With Jackson, I observe he was not particularly impressive except in terms of Indian killing; he was really good at that.

This may provide some amusement since the President rated the worst in Cadillac Man's survey was Buchanan as he set up the Civil War.  The comedy part is he did it in the same way as with Donald Trump and Mexicans just now since he was making it easy for Confederate goons to come to the North to retake escaped slaves.

Refer to your favorite book of rock'n'roll quotes for something on history repeating itself.

Buchanan does not replace my selection for Worst since the primary criterion in my evaluation is how much human suffering did this President cause.  I do believe Andrew Jackson is on the top of that horror list.

It's to the specific purpose of whitewashing America's reputation that the history of genocide with Indians is being marginalized and dismissed by Republicans.  That genocidal behavior defiles every word they have ever said about a free country so, wtf, erase it and pretend it never happened.

Truth ... where the fuck is it?

Note:  there is no competition and I like / appreciate it when Cadillac Man says he likes it that there's no fighting here.   If anyone will contest something then find a better citation and prove it.  We won't tolerate the knuckledraggers spewing their simplistic rubbish about libtards, etc as if that cogent analysis ever resolved or clarified anything.

For example, someone said earlier 58 of 59 of Trump's cruise missiles hit their targets in Syria.  That's in substantial conflict with other evidence so the response was we will need independent confirmation (i.e. a better citation than the Pentagon).  If that exists then there's some basis of discussion but otherwise there's no point in going further with it.  The Pentagon hasn't been a credible source for decades and that goes all the way back to Vietnam.  Some read about it; we lived it.

Cadillac Man said Ithaka sometimes inspires him to check out his own references and that's a huge win here.  I don't expect anyone to believe simply from face value anything I should write and why should you believe it when we're constantly pelted by poo from the monkey house.  One of my biggest problems with people is the appalling gullibility and that's why the determination to provide links for everything.

For another example, the Pentagon is trying to kludge up a pitch that Russia made the chemical weapons in Syria.  You know perfectly well some asshole will believe that without checking a thing.

It says right up at the top for Ithaka that we trust your ability to discern the difference as to the truth or falsity of something.  As Uncle George told us so often, "Question everything."

It's not Ithaka's purpose to lie about anything and we're not paid for this so why should we but it should be your purpose to question.  Take whatever you like from Ithaka but definitely take that one first.

People either think or go to social networks.  Your call.

Someone asks if I heard what Nikki Haley said but what difference does it make when she's just an idiotic mouthpiece with boobs.  There seems some expectation she delivers truth from the simple utterance of whatever her latest genius and that's the part which is mystifying.  When was there ever truth from her on anything.

Giving tacit acceptance of truth to anyone is unusual and another example is in the way CNN has been slashing Melania and Ivanka Trump.  The reception has been generally one of, wow, those damn tramps.  However, it's not clear what they ever did to anyone except be associated with Trump.  Nevertheless, the CNN people get the appropriate measure of self-righteous indignation.

There was one Gold Dust Woman in the political game, tho ... but she lost her fat ass.

In fact, Cadillac Man was with me out at Edgewater Drag Strip near Cincinnati where we went to see Fleetwood Mac and this had to have been early Seventies.  Stevie Nicks was dancing in the sunlight with those scarves streaming all over the place and that meant love, love, love for life.  Unknown about Cadillac Man but I still have a mad crush for her all these years later.

Rulers make bad lovers

Up for sale

Ed:  you rule Ithaka so I guess you better sell that, you bad lover

I don't rule Ithaka but rather you do.  I don't choose which articles get to the What's Hot list but rather you do.  Sometimes (i.e. often), I'll be rooting for this one or that one and thinking, ela, ela, that was a good one, wasn't it ... wasn't it?

I like to think Ithaka may offer some leadership but it's not ruling anything.
