Obama said the U.S. flag is flying at half staff because of the fallen soldiers in Chattanooga. We didn't see any combat in Chattanooga, however. All we saw in Chattanooga was five more people getting capped by a lone psycho with a gun and if that makes combat then the whole country is at war with Chicago leading the way.
Obama should also have taken note there are roughly twenty-four people murdered every day in the U.S. The flag is not at half staff for the other nineteen who were murdered that day because they were irrelevant and useless and the state doesn't give a fuck about them. In Chicago, fifty people will get shot on most week-ends.
It sucks bad for the families of the people who got killed in Chattanooga but this is another example of false heroism because it doesn't take courage to be a victim, you only have to be in the line of fire. This sort of thing couldn't be more hostile to life without putting arsenic in the water because your life only matters if you wrap it in a uniform.
It's an extraordinary situation as everyone who uses a gun for anything after it has been manufactured is a criminal whereas the maker is a hero. What do you know, there's that word again.
Conservatives know the hypocrisy of creating defense manufacturers who make nothing but weapons to kill people but they also know Democrats are too pussy to stand up to them about it and they keep making them. In this context, conservatives aren't so bad as they're evil but they're a predictable evil whereas the Democrats have become nothing more than the slime that's left after slugs eat your plants.
Note: Sanders and Warren are the only exceptions to that and maybe Sanders really can stand up to Clinton's Old School money (i.e. corporate corruption) but Warren just turned into a ghost. Fifty percent of all that remains of the liberal team disappeared in a single move. This is not encouraging.
As to who is really a Democrat, if Obama were going head to head with Eisenhower, I'd pick Ike as the best Democrat in terms of adhering to populist principles, etc. In fact, Obama wouldn't even come close.
That position will really frost Tinkerbell as she thinks Obama is a god but she and my ol' Mother have a touch of reverse racism in which you get a little extra slack for having black skin. I don't hold with that and if Obama wants to be a Democrat then he seriously needs to act like one. It would have been Hollywood cool if Obama turned out to be Shaft and put a major whoopass on the corporate bad guys ... but, amazingly enough, Schwarzenegger isn't the Terminator either.
