X Japan may well have the best musicians in rock and they have gone to a whole new planet from the one with the garage bands. This is one of the few which can mix overtly classical influences without sounding pretentious. Yoshiki is the drummer / pianist who is a main feature of the show but the other members of the band have brilliant talents. X Japan makes hard metal but keeps humanity in it.
