Music in Second Life isn't a way to make a living and never was. However, like anywhere else, sex sells constantly. Of course, musicians could become hookers in the virtual world but that wouldn't be much more entertaining than sex with a watermelon except there's some marginal chance some twisted souls might enjoy the watermelon.
So, how do you make a buck. Well, making skins is not something that requires a shower after you do it and there's even some money to be made in it. I had never considered making a skin nor had any interest in doing it until I looked around for one and didn't find anything. After playing around with some stuff, I was reborn a young stud and that worked out fairly well.
Cat and I talked about it and then we went looking around for resources to make more only female skins this time.
And this is what happened.
The outfit she is wearing has nothing to do with the skin as the latter is her make-up, skin tone, etc. (The outfit came from Bare Rose and they have about, oh, a billion of them but you have to have the nerve to wear them!)
I do some work in GIMP (free, open source variation on Photoshop). After that the result is uploaded and Cat works with it. Based on whatever comes from that we decide whether it needs anything further.
She was beautiful already but now she's beautiful because we made her that way and ain't that a trip!
Now it looks like what we will be doing further is opening a store. More to come!
Even if I don't do more than play guitar and be Cat's personal skin designer, I'm quite happy with that. Isn't that pretty much every man's fantasy anyway!
