The Howler God Monkeys of the Popul Vuh

Maybe you see the carving and think Mayans so give yourself a hat tip.  With the Mayans and Aztecs earlier he had been a god of the arts and specifically music.  (WIKI:  Howler Monkey gods)

The Popol Vuh is actually one of the most precious documents for scholars from the period of Spanish conquest since it was translate and transcribed with immense difficulty by a Catholic priest and it's one of the few records of such nature which exist.  (WIKI:  Popol Vuh)

As to who the hell cares, Popol Vuh is the name of a German krautrock band and I started looking around to discover whether the name had any significance beyond something which may sound cool if you're trippin'.  Sure enough, the German krautrockers drew an inspiration from MesoAmerican philosophy.

Would you say that's deep enough for you yet?  I thought it was highly damn cool.

Don't look for hammerhead as krautrock specifically sought not to deliver yet another crew of guitar bands like from everywhere else.  Brits ridiculed it as krautrock but the Germans thought it was funny and threw it back at them.  Look at Brit music now and tell me who's still laughing (larfs).
