The purpose is not to be inflammatory simply as a means of starting fires but it is the purpose to find interesting things over which there may be some disagreement. America as a Dominatrix Hooker was deliberately offensive but obviously so and I figured the reaction to that would be to get pissed off and walk away while the regulars probably don't have much use for dominating the world anyway. So I didn't expect a reaction to that one and, what a surprise, there wasn't one.
I thought perhaps there might be some interest in the charter schools presentation from John Oliver since his report surprised me. I didn't have any particular disregard for charter schools except expense, socialism, etc, etc as my only loose experience was with one in Cincinnati which specialized in Montessori. I never had any particular reason to learn about Montessori as it seemed a tad precious but nevertheless a valid form of education.
Then I heard Oliver's report and was actually shocked by it.
John Oliver can't be savage enough to be a full satirist but he can't do that when his job is as a comedian. I was surprised when he didn't slash Clinton to the bones but maybe an hour isn't long enough to get near the bones. Even so, he can't as the Clintonistas walk em masse and his audience evaporates.
It's a tough job as Jon Stewart doesn't seem to quite know what to do with the freedom to be a complete bastard in the eyes of many people. Even when the words are true but they may very well hate you for saying them. Dressing that up in a clever satire may well make it palatable but probably still difficult to stomach for many due to the intense need 'to be on the winning team' and similar kinds of thinking.
'Brutal honesty' is typically a euphemism for being an asshole but savagery is warranted when the subject demands it (e.g. crooked pols, etc).
Clinton could cap the Pope and there are so many layers of Teflon around her people would probably just nod and say, "Well, the Vatican has way too much money anyway, doesn't it."
The NeoDems did a better job in whitewashing and plasticizing her even than the Republicans did with Reagan. It's incredible as likely they want to build statues of her in Central Park looking skyward with a beatific expression. Actually she will be looking toward Wall Street with lust in her eyes for the only type of sex she ever wants.
Savagery won't win friends and it may not influence people but they will at least get an impression of people being absolutely furious regarding the beguilement of the majority. That doesn't mean it costs me an eye blink of sleep because mostly in drifting off the express train will be rolling with potential articles and the train doesn't need to stop but it would be good if it slowed down (larfs).
Yah, it's a song but practically everything worth a damn is in a song somewhere so let's go with this one:
It's a strange video and some parts were live but, wtf, people are strange.
