India Has the Coolest Billionaires ... or At Least One

When Savji Dholakia celebrates Diwali, he does it in a grand way and a whole lot of colors which is why he is now officially the Coolest Billionaire We Ever Saw and India takes the prize for coolest country because the world only has one cool billionaire and Dholakia is The Man.

The tycoon, who owns diamond firm Hare Krishna Exports, is known for being overly generous and this year, over a thousand lucky employees were chosen for being the company’s best performers, becoming the latest beneficiaries of Dholakia’s generosity.

Dholakia has been handing out Diwali gifts every year since 2011 where the rewards for staff are announced during an informal meeting. In 2015, he gave away almost 500 cars and 200 apartments to staff.

We're puzzled by the reporter's reaction since what does 'overly generous' mean anyway.  When he can afford it and he likes to do it, how is that overly generous.  From here at the Rockhouse, it seems he shares his joy of life and a whole lot of the color in it so where is the problem?

Besides, this is Diwali and the Festival of Lights which is the celebration of good over evil so we're thinking the reporter will need a Hindu refresher course.  (WIKI:  Diwali)

(Ed:  along with some car keys, that should do it!)

We all find Diwali in different ways, don't we ... or, at least Savji Dholakia does ... and we're glad of it.

In case you think the man is some kind of soft and squishy touch, check this out:

The billionaire made headlines earlier this year when he sent his 21-year-old son to the southern Indian state of Kerala to work for a month, with three sets of clothes and a modest portion of cash. He said it was to teach his son to learn the value of money.
