Well, This is Awkward About those AVI Choice Awards

After saying less than kind things about the AVI Choice Awards yesterday, there's a little problem.  Yep, that little problem is that I was nominated in the Best Original Musician category.

However, this is not what it seems.  When the young 'uns want to disparage other guitarists, they will say their style is Old School which is to say old, feeble, and stupid.  There is a bigger shot than that when they call you an Original Musician as this means you are so old that before you there were no musical instruments.  Yes, that old.

So, what you do is vote for Voodoo Shilton for Best Original Musician as he is way, WAY older than I.  He might even be in his mid-thirties and, damn, that is so old.

Voodoo Shilton is exceptionally talented in jazz composition and I've written multiple times on the genius of his work.

lefty Unplugged is brilliant in original music and poetry but his work has a lot of improvisation which isn't the same as original composition.

So, if I'm going to play music awards then I've got to pick one over the other for Best Original.  I have one answer for that:  I ain't doin' it.
