Facebook is ninety-nine percent worthless crap ... but there's just enough that isn't to keep me fluttering back there. Ronald Correia has been a friend of mine for about fifteen years and a peer colleague at work for about ten of those, all in spite of the fact that he's an unrepentant conservative. We were paid big bucks to talk for hours and there are two things to know before you deal with him: the history and the facts as you bet he will know them both and very well. (Sometimes we worked on computers too.)

On July 27, 29, and 30, 1974, the House Judiciary Committee approved three Articles of Impeachment against President Nixon. The second of those articles, approved on the 29th, pertained to Abuse of Power. Several of the paragraphs detailed the blatant unconstitutional electronic surveillance of private citizens. Sound familiar? So where are the Articles of Impeachment pertaining to Barack Obama? He's certainly earned them for the ongoing NSA surveillance fiasco.
Alan Stewart Fraser Agreed. about an hour ago

Alan Stewart Fraser But hide what? They aren't looking for terrorists as many, many people write things in blogs to deliberately provoke the NSA but they don't do anything. Even after my stuff, I applied to re-up a U.S. passport from overseas and they still gave it to me. Not even a blacklist and I have written stuff that I am absolutely positive would have pissed 'em off. 11 minutes ago
Alan Stewart Fraser So here's yer question: Do you want him impeached because of this or is it really because of the ACA, so endearingly known to rednecks as Obamacare.
P.S. I want him impeached for this. He was in charge. He lied. Kick his ass out for disrespecting the office and the people. 9 minutes ago
Ronald Correia So a couple of items. I wouldn't say "hide behind 9/11." Rather, 9/11 provided the opportunity and the public support to implement levels of domestic and foreign surveillance that would have generated lynch mobs a decade earlier. Bush started that snowball down the slopes and Obama's added jet engines to it. What we're seeing now is that the memory of 9/11 has faded sufficiently for the public to wake up and see what is being done "for their own protection." Whether or not it's too late remains to be seen. I fear it is.
I want him impeached for abuse of power related to the surveillance that is being uncovered daily. As much as I dislike the ACA and believe it's fundamentally detrimental to health care in the US, there is nothing illegal about it. That's not an impeachable issue. Obamacare is something for the American people to address at the polls. about a minute ago
Alan Stewart Fraser Full agreement. about a minute ago
The full text of Richard Nixon's Articles of Impeachment is too long to drop here but you can read it.
