About Racing, Talking Dogs, and One Cat

The last I saw of qualifying, Raikkonen was about fourth on the grid but there's been some penalty and the FIA judges pushed him to the back.  It wasn't entirely clear why they did it except that it was a second offense, whatever it was.

It's the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and I can't imagine what other reason anyone would have for going there but the Queen Bee did it some years back.  She also took her boys to Ecuador so they could see toilets really do flush in the other direction when you go south of the Equator.  I'm sure there was more to it than that but she has stuck with that explanation.

And the race starts ...

Damn, Webber gets jumped by Rosberg and Vettel.  This makes no sense as I don't even faintly believe it's simply a matter of reaction time.  Definitely a bad first lap as Raikkonen doesn't even finish it before DNF.  The only good news is an excellent start for Grosjean.

Cool addition to the telemetry from the cars:  now we can see when they have DRS active.  Most interesting.

Very cool dicing between Sutil, Hamilton and Massa.

I confess my attention drifted as I'm really captured by "What Would Dogs Do" and I went back to writing.  At first it seemed like a children's story.  Then it changed to a General audience level as the theme escalated.  Then it went to a PG rating for language.  I said there wouldn't be any sex or drugs but, well, I lied.  I wasn't lying at the time as I didn't think such things would be necessary but, what the hell, Harrison hadn't seen his wife for two years.  A hug just wasn't enough.  So, yah, now it's got an R rating.  It won't go to an X rating as I look at writing porno as a kind of showing off as if to say, oh yeah, I know more about sex than you.  If that's true, I don't want to fookin' know.

Some of what's in the story will piss you off and it should but don't take that to mean you know the outcome.  Cat and I talked about it yesterday and it was remarkable as she knew that I knew how I needed to end it.  The talk was good and and the ending is now written.  I didn't tell her what the ending would be but I'm sure she knows.  The blog will get to it in about two weeks.
