"Flight of the Falcon" | Artist J. Poplin / @juicedawg73 | #abstractart #contemporaryart

"Flight of the Falcon" by Artist J. Poplin @juicedawg73

I doubt it takes a downtown critic to see the falcon's flight across the scene.  The image is filled with Earth tones so my feeling is he doesn't want to go to someplace so ethereal but take it back to ground.  That works for me since a falcon won't ever kill anything unless it needs something to eat.

Whether the bird flies from below or goes from side to side is not so easy to determine but maybe there is some heat below and that's what gave him life or the reason to fly.  It seems there's water down there too and the falcon is flying over it.

Perhaps you notice the watermark but what else should he do when skanks like me will copy it whenever we will.  I know with this artist he doesn't mind since he has liked the things I've written so I take a chance on writing more and hope my estimation of the work is worthy.

One of the coolest things about abstract art is it can be anything you want but the closer that view comes to whatever the artist may think is maybe like guessing the wine in a French restaurant to temporarily impress them I may have some class.  I wouldn't have any chance of it but I already know I have no class.

One thing I know for sure is Artist J. isn't thinking whatever I may write but if he sees the words and agrees with them then that's a strike (i.e. bowling and definitely good).  It's the same thing when I've played a set and people there may like it but what was it you heard.  Finding people who like something you did isn't terribly hard unless you completely suck but finding whatever they liked about isn't all that easy.

I've written hundreds of song and hundreds of poems and some have done quite well but if you asked me what they liked in them then it's impossible to tell.

So I write and hopefully I guess the wine.

Have at it, Magic Land, and good luck in discerning how he did it but maybe that doesn't matter and just appreciate the thing he made.

The Rockhouse wishes the best of luck to Artist J. Poplin and it surprises him sometimes that I do this since he sees I'm not looking for anything.  In America it seems like everything must have a catch but I'm not catching anything since I ain't that fast just now and I never much liked baseball anyway.

"Going Back to The Patriot" #Poetry #Peace

"The Patriot" is one hell of a story
with irony which goes for miles
since the ones who will most cheer it
are now the other side

The rebels became the Tories
and now act just the same
but that's the evolution of power
which is Man's perennial game

Substitution of one set of monsters
for the ones just departed
means the first move is to get some money
so, baby, let's get started

In time there's CIA and DARPA
and anything for a thrill
because there's nothing Tories love so much
as going for a kill

We saw their way at Amritsar
and that shame will live forever
Cameron tried to bob and wave
about that India disgrace
yet he was doing the same damn thing
but in another place
where he learned with the U.S.A.
don't let anyone see what we waste

So long as Tories don't have to do it
anyone else must go
Tories just preserve their riches
and they won't ever show

None of this is conscious
while I watch the movie play
since I see how it was when the French arrived
on that final fateful day

They were there when America needed them
but now it's just a game
and America is the occupier
so likely things will go the same

France rejected the Despot
and hired the Flip Flop man instead
but we don't much care for their politics
since they sometimes make good bread

The baguettes are too die for
and Brother Dick gave us his will
There are many things worth dying for
but nothing worthy of a kill

- Colonel Abuthnot Jones

The Flooded Streets had Flooded Words

That poem was written too quickly even when that's almost always how I do it since I want whatever thought to emerge with as little translation as possible.  It's just the same with music when a melody is in my head, the hope is that can come to life and still sound like I heard inside.  It probably won't since the vision is always the Ideal and the emergence is what makes it real.

That last bit was starting to try to dodge arty when the fact of it is the structure was too contrived.  In effect the poem came to a punchline since I won't forget her smile but it was too laborious for anyone to get there.  Bringing anything to a punchline makes it look like "Rendezvous with Rama" in which we read three or four hundred pages to discover, oh, they always come in threes.

A punchline takes the poem to Vaudeville but that doesn't work so well when it isn't funny and Vaudeville wasn't that funny either although I caution junior grasshoppers to understand I may be old but I'm not that fuckin' old.  I guess Vaudeville must have been from the early 20th Century until maybe even the 50s but I didn't even enter the game until the 50s so I've only seen it on TV.

It may seem the concern is age but that's not it at all since you draw from what you know and I don't know Vaudeville all that well.

Without tits and ass and politics
people won't much show

but it's really just ok
since they never thought of paying
for this free ride

Even so, here's a taste since Megyn Kelly has joined the race in the Millionaire Victims Big Bucks Speaking Tour with Hillary Clinton and, guess what, both have shitty, whiny books available and both will make another million from them.

Oh, my achin' ass, how I do feel their fucking pain.

You who can't get prescriptions, do you feel their searing pain, would you sell your story on TV, and you don't even need to answer since I know you're a better sort than that.

The simple fact is they're shitty writers and have no thought of anything more clever to write.

If you don't quite get it yet with Megyn Kelly and her pretentious affectation, her daughter is named Yardley but she could have been named for a truck since when the names get that stupid I just don't give a fuck.

Was Yardley a perfume or a liver pill or some shit in a previous time ... and these are the same people who mock black people for pretentious names.

Kids aren't impressed by affectation so I wonder what Yardley will be called.  Yardy sounds even more stupid and Ley throws the name away so I think they will just call her Virgo since they're not as stupid as parents often think.

I rolled Brenda Bakke because I've seen "Under Siege x" a few times because it's all so deliciously stupid but it's delivered in a comical way and usually with someone boobiferous to give it some color.  In the second movie, she was the hot girl ... until she learned to fly.  I wondered how she was doing and now you know why.

So the Flooded Streets was a poor execution of a not such a bad concept.  That's ok since if some don't tank then I'm not working hard enough.

Colonel Abuthnot with Poetic Reading of Latest Poem | Video | #Poetry

Now this one will screw them up since there's no funny hat and no mask plus there are no vocal effects.

There are frequent references to the brothers at VA and that doesn't include the sisters but only because it takes too many syllables.  I mean no disrespect.

I do think it could have used some bass boost and a touch of reverb for a wee bit of color.

Peace

The Colonel is becoming and who knows where he goes.

"The Cock Only Knows One Thing" - the Colonel goes to the top and thanks for that

Keeping Bacteria - a novel form of protection against bacterial infection

A Novel Approach - novel is almost always good in a scientific context and this applies to chronic pain management with medication and why it doesn't work too well

Maybe Father A - consideration of a poetic reading in video and I did that or the Colonel did and it's processing on YouTube now

"The Traveler" - that's two for the Colonel so good job, Butch

Two Out-of-State - there's little sympathy for bounty hunters and I don't hear any in Dallas

The Victim's - $80,000,000 victim is out on the big bucks speaking tour parading how she's a victim

Racing - it's kind of a game but really isn't and actually it's the Colonel becoming

The Case - the prof makes a valid if ethereal case for the difference between practical and creative intelligence

Meet Brenda Bakke - she was in "Under Siege 2" and she took a dive from a tall train trestle but she seems to have done much more than survive

By Charter, the Mission of NASA is Peaceful

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, with the Dragon spacecraft onboard, is seen shortly after being raised vertical at Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, Thursday, June 1, 2017. Liftoff is scheduled for 5:55 p.m EDT.

Dragon is carrying almost 6,000 pounds of science research, crew supplies and hardware to the International Space Station in support of the Expedition 52 and 53 crew members. The unpressurized trunk of the spacecraft also will transport solar panels, tools for Earth-observation and the Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) mission, the world's first mission devoted to studying neutron stars.

This will be the 100th launch, and sixth SpaceX launch, from this pad. Previous launches include 11 Apollo flights, the launch of the unmanned Skylab in 1973, 82 shuttle flights and five SpaceX launches.

"Driving the Flooded Streets of Fort Worth" #Poetry

Driving the floods in Fort Worth
isn't anything new
it happens any time it rains
when the sewers lose their cool
and then they take the streets
but it may not be possible to fix
when the sewers are so old
you'll need a kayak when you drive
That kayak will help you get there
and ensure you will arrive
but then the floods will dissipate
and you'll walk back to your car

Swimming the streets was not my purpose
since I was coming back from VA
When I got there I drove in circles
as parking is impossible and not much to say
but then a brother waved to me
and summoned me to come,
"Now I will be leaving
and this place is for your car"

They wanted my tallywhacker
but they scoped it once before
and said they didn't see a thing
which was worthy of a score
so I was surprised when they called me
you come on back again
since I thought it was all hunky dory
and that whacker is still my friend

However, there's another med
which they now want me to take
they say it may make boobies
but it will slow that prostate's rate
I thought everything was cool
and last time it was fini
but the consequence of this visit
is I'll look good in a bikini

That was cool and I thanked the brother,
USAF now retired,
I asked him will you mail it
and thank you for your time
so maybe you wonder what color
but at VA we are all alike
some took it so much harder
but all were part of that dark night

Although I saw no combat
There is one thing I always know
because I stood my time there
Some free man didn't have to go
He might have died in combat
or stayed stateside just like me
but he never had to face that
and that thought sets my soul free

There's more to this long saga
since it never is complete
until I get to Waffle House
to get something to eat
No matter who you are
and no matter how you dress
Waffle House will welcome you
and it requires no duress

My helper was Miss June
and I said she has a lovely smile
when so many are lost in anger
you bring something that's worthwhile
She asked if I'm a veteran
and I asked how it was she knew
since I never wear any colors
but she asks everyone coming through

We talked a little while
as I enjoyed that fine repast
and it turned out her husband
works at VA where I'd been last
So he's likely to be a brother
and she knows what it all means
Her smile was invigorating
and people need to feel that gleam

but many see a card from Hallmark
and think it's a simple bore
but that cynicism is so cloying
when it comes from little boys
who stand six-feet tall
and wear expensive suits
while they send more of the brothers
to die in foreign wars

Those ones don't mean a single thing
since we just don't have the time
but Miss June was ever smiling
and I lack a clever rhyme
but Miss June deserves something better
and I thanked her for this while
there are many things I may forget
but I don't forget that smile.

Maybe Father Anonymous Needs to Read #Poetry ... But Without the Mask

Father Anonymous doesn't need a mask since old people are seen the same by almost everyone.

That could be an approach since I can Alex the hell out of a poetic reading and get so Burrrrton with it.  Doing that might even be cool with zero vocal affect unless it's natural and real.

Note forevermore, young grasshoppers, AutoTune is musical kryptonite ... but it also sucks for speaking.

Maybe you heard the part in which I didn't want to be seen and maybe you saw another in which there wasn't a particular reason; I just prefer to make a video in which I'm not just staring at myself while I produce it.

I believe I may take a camera
on a sojourn later today
since that may yield some fuel
with which I can happily play
and bringing Toby the Dog
could bring quietly make the point
The Colonel really was a canine
and woof, woof, woof, ain't that an oink

- Colonel Abuthnot Jones

For anyone interested in the history, Colonel Abuthnot Jones was the registered Kennel Club name for Butch the Dog in Australia and who later came to America.  He was the best-traveled dog I ever knew and there' no description for the world of tragedy when that old mutt finally shot through.

Note:  shooting through is Oz slang for leaving.

There's the possibility of coolness in it since that would bring the words without putting my puss all over the screen and that's a peach of a thing when I've already seen it.

The ML EL works in virtual and you see it at work just now and this is more Pussy Power in the finest sense of Code Pink since we don't want to kill anyone ... and it's better not to slash them up too hard either.

I admit the solution to the nagging was maybe brutal in some eyes but it started in a garden party in Clifton, many years ago, and now it's back with its red eyes to bring that back again.  I see no solution but shutting the door on it to prevent that pointless conflict.  I tell you flat, I can't take that and I was afraid to look at the Comments since it's happened so many times.

I'll not defend the things I do since I don't have any reason and I'll believe anyone in all the world is one of us from swearing to make the peace.  It isn't just in a homestead, it extends to all the world, and no matter how much money we have it's the finest thing we can give.

Therefore ... give that and maybe with an artsy fartsy video.

One thing made all the more clear through that virtual today is anything which is not about peace, love, and understanding is really only wasting time.

"Then There Was One from a Legend" #Poetry

She came from an unknown lake
where she held her sword up in the air
but she didn't ever use it
since that blade only brought truth

There's a lovely breath of air
which refreshes all the world
since the ones who don't want anything
are everyone's greatest joy

She will sing at any time
and doesn't need a reason
it's all about the music
and doesn't need a season

since she rises from the water
when e'er she hears the call
and many times that wonder
holds people in her thrall

Her peace is such a rarity
in a world gone completely mad
She sees all that with gifted eyes
but she won't let them make her sad

since the ones who bring the love
will never use that sword
and she has never tried
her song is her true word

So Then I Killed Apple iCloud ... But It Came Back for Blood

The casualties are acceptable since iCloud must be banished from my computers for the infernal incompetence of its management, particularly with regard to its login password which constantly needs validation thus demonstrating the attention span of a tsetse fly.

The cost

Most of the contents of Apple MAIL are gone.

My CALENDAR hasn't kept anything but birthdays but it won't let me update since it doesn't consider me the administration.

Note:  that only tells me to get Unix with it and destroy that calendar so I can make another.

Looks any poems / lyrics I wrote with PAGES have poofed as well.

Some things are gone from iTunes as well but it probably doesn't matter much since it gets so scattered each time I upgrade OS X, I got fed-up with keeping track of things much that way except the latest thing I've written.

Update:  scratch that as those poofed too.  Odd since that wasn't supposed to sync to iCloud and wasn't marked that way in iCloud Preferences.

In other words, iCloud is so buggered it's worth any cost to be rid of it.

The behavior is about the same as Facebook since it never gives anything back either.

It's worth it since it took years to get this fed-up with iCloud and now the damn thing is dead.  Ha.

Yevette's machine shares data with me but never via iCloud.  It's copied over the local net and that needs no interference from some Apple demigod.  For anything requiring more distant transport, the contents go to a thumb drive.

There's never any real security while you're connected to a Cloud and really not at all without going to cash and disconnecting from the grid.

The ones who do the searching only use the tools they know and you have seen how they get helpless when you don't carry a mobile.  If you don't use a cash card then you can't be tracked that way either.

The Rockhouse has no evil purpose and it's not the state's business where I am.

Watson:  do you call the loss collateral damage?

No since that's a Pentagon euphemism for dead civilians.  I only lost some data.

Racing the #Science Against the #Poetry

Both things I take quite seriously
but others rarely will
and I saw yesterday the Ant Lion King
ate all the science he could kill

I thought, hmm, these are Marvel maniacs;
my poetry cannot lose
so I give poems from the Colonel
to see who blows a fuse

It's really not a race
when the science has no chance
and, sure enough, the poet wins
when three of them can dance

They're at the top of the What's Hot list
and they seem to rule the day
but that list is just the mainstream
and you'll do better when you come to play

- Colonel Abuthnot Jones

Ref:  Ithaka:  The Ant Lions Are Increasing their Numbers Early

Or you can read Ithaka:  A Novel Approach to Treatment of Chronic Pain #Science
but you probably won't
The Poet already knows that pain
and that's why many write

I'm more reluctant to play the buddy buddy aspect of things as late since I have no idea who you are.  That may reappear but it feels kind of thin just now.

However ...

Science Daily:  Outnumbered and on others' turf, misfits sometimes thrive

That has a novel appointment
for a stranger in this land
when sometimes that confers
some benefits out of hand.

I do always feel outnumbered,
often like the only one left
but that varies with concordance
negating any feeling of theft

Being foreign may make us stronger
since the local bugs don't know us
our immune systems are a little different
so they attack the ones they know

First Thing I Found Which Wasn't Political, Violent, or Both

One thing we see about those pandas
Bamboo won't work well to clean the tush
but the rules are a little different
when you live out in the bush
