"Flight of the Falcon" by Artist J. Poplin @juicedawg73
I doubt it takes a downtown critic to see the falcon's flight across the scene. The image is filled with Earth tones so my feeling is he doesn't want to go to someplace so ethereal but take it back to ground. That works for me since a falcon won't ever kill anything unless it needs something to eat.
Whether the bird flies from below or goes from side to side is not so easy to determine but maybe there is some heat below and that's what gave him life or the reason to fly. It seems there's water down there too and the falcon is flying over it.
Perhaps you notice the watermark but what else should he do when skanks like me will copy it whenever we will. I know with this artist he doesn't mind since he has liked the things I've written so I take a chance on writing more and hope my estimation of the work is worthy.
One of the coolest things about abstract art is it can be anything you want but the closer that view comes to whatever the artist may think is maybe like guessing the wine in a French restaurant to temporarily impress them I may have some class. I wouldn't have any chance of it but I already know I have no class.
One thing I know for sure is Artist J. isn't thinking whatever I may write but if he sees the words and agrees with them then that's a strike (i.e. bowling and definitely good). It's the same thing when I've played a set and people there may like it but what was it you heard. Finding people who like something you did isn't terribly hard unless you completely suck but finding whatever they liked about isn't all that easy.
I've written hundreds of song and hundreds of poems and some have done quite well but if you asked me what they liked in them then it's impossible to tell.
So I write and hopefully I guess the wine.
Have at it, Magic Land, and good luck in discerning how he did it but maybe that doesn't matter and just appreciate the thing he made.
The Rockhouse wishes the best of luck to Artist J. Poplin and it surprises him sometimes that I do this since he sees I'm not looking for anything. In America it seems like everything must have a catch but I'm not catching anything since I ain't that fast just now and I never much liked baseball anyway.
