Now that Ted Cruz has effectively destroyed his future in anything, he has only one choice left: become an evangelical preacher. That way he can stay in politics, still make big bucks, and never lift a finger.
Which brings us to the actual money shot because we were never interested in Ted Cruz for anything more than alligator bait.
There's a meme floating about constantly about taxing the church. We specifically reject taxation of the church because that's just as much of a Constitutional violation as it is for religious people to change the Constitution for their own purposes.
We want the church to get the hell out of the state and Kannafoot advises there is already legislation which specifically forbids using the pulpit for political messages. As many of you see regularly, that law is violated as much as speeding in Nevada.
There is clear justification for removal the tax-exempt basis for the offending churches but it is not enforced.
Why not?
We have no concern about the Pope issuing messages which sound political but which really don't endorse anyone. Where we hit the combat zone is when the church interferes with a specific political agenda. It's illegal and it needs to stop.
To my limited knowledge, the primary religions have enough sense not to do this kind of thing in a sermon and instead stick to their (gasp) actual jobs. If you're not at the pulpit, say whatever you like. That's legal.
Our primary problem is with leeches like Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, etc, etc. Osteen has been milking the church for millions, lives in a gigantic Texas mansion, resembles the behavior of Jesus in no way whatsoever. Same thing with Creflo Dollar.
Anyone out there want to tell me that's religion and should be protected by the state?
