Recording Looks Improbable Tonight

In fact, since I only just woke and it's after midnight, I'd say recording looks highly improbable.  My body must have decided I worked hard enough this week-end already since a nap ran about six hours.

It would still be ok to record this late but best to write it off and try for some more sleep.  That's unfortunate because I would like to have a go but if I do it then I will still be going when the sun comes up and maybe not such a good plan.  The body said it's a bye evening so, ok, it's a bye and tomorrow evening becomes the target.

There was a brief look at the news but that's been on a bye for at least a week now.  Maybe there will be interest to write of the total failure of 'states rights' as a political construct in the U.S.  The concept has enabled a tremendous amount of destructiveness but has never, in all of America's history, contributed anything to the betterment of the country.

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas made this week's most disingenuous and hypocritical speech in support of states rights, gutting of Federal authority, etc, etc.  There was nothing particularly innovative in the things he said except it was even more brazen than Donald Trump when Texas sucks on the government military teat with immense vigor, particularly with regard to federal military contracts going to Lockheed Martin.  Without a strong Fed, Abbott would be just another cowhand pushing beef through Fort Worth.

Sean Penn is taking more flak for interviewing El Chapo than John McCain was handed for interviewing ISIS so we're glad to see CNN working so assiduously toward destroying the credibility they had in their early days.

Inasmuch as Mexican heroin is one of the biggest threats facing America, my only question isn't so much how Sean Penn could interview El Chapo but rather how the fuck is it even possible a movie actor found him before the CIA, NSA, FBI, or any other of these vaunted security systems.  Answer:  they didn't even look.

CNN will interview Clinton and Biden who maybe consider joining in Bedrock and running a Flintstones campaign together just because they haven't made the election boring enough already.  Someone was going on today about Clinton's accomplishments and he didn't regard her participation in wrecking Libya as substantive enough.  I didn't play patty cake with him for long since any damn fool can see the only significant accomplishment for either Clinton was amassing one gigantic pile of money.  They say they work for the public good but they're sure pleased at how much of that public good wound up in their private bank accounts.

As to what Ammon Bundy and the Brokeback Boys are doing ... who cares.  It's nice they can mooch enough money from the government they don't have to work, tho.

They knew he was going and followed him. It led to Chapos recapture
Penns visit was very self serving for Penn. I have very little time for him

Dunno since I haven't read the article but there's huge irony in the Snowman going to interview the Dope Merchant.
