NASA is soliciting solutions for radical exploration in the solar system and one specific intention is to send a submarine probe to explore Titan, a large moon of Saturn with oceans of methane. (RT: What's next for NASA – a Saturn moon submarine?)
At first I thought the submarine can't possibly work as there would be no way it could use solar panels for power. However, the submarine is floating in an ocean of methane. All you need is some oxygen to make a very big bang. This could be an excellent power source providing, of course, the moon doesn't explode.
An alternative would be to use plutonium as a power source but this will enrage PETA. Even worse, it will enrage the Titanian fishlizards and the result of that is unpredictable. However, if the fishlizards get out the consequence is inevitable as they will be spreading Titanian fishlizard religion everywhere they can. Hear me my brothers, accept the Gospel of the Fishlizard.
