A Review of the Payoffs to Hillary "Arms Broker" Clinton #hillaryclinton #neverhillary

These countries show their loyalty to the weapons merchant who supplied them with so much heavy military equipment.  Profiting on that should be illegal rather than providing a foundation for self-righteous hypocrisy.  Saudi Arabia is the world's biggest buyer of American military hardware and Hillary Clinton kept them well-supplied with F-15s or whatever else they needed.  They don't forget and you see the kickbacks.

You can polish it all you like but it won't ever turn into a diamond.

There's no deception in a diamond, maybe in the promises which go with it but not the diamond.

Watching Discus has Nothing to Do with Olympic Sport

Discus are extraordinarily elegant creatures and they easily surpass the size with almost the same shape of a saucer for your table.  They move with regal restraint unless startled and then they take off faster than blue bullets.

Note:  the one pictured above is not one from the Hazel Hideaway Project but looks quite similar.

Watching them cruising in a tank of at least fifty-five gallons is an obviously beautiful thing but where it gets supremely fascinating is when we observe two of them have formed a pair and these were Wilson and Aretha.

Raising Wilson and Aretha was a highly-focused campaign by the Mystery Lady and I back in the Hazel Hideaway for music and fish.  They were the only fish in the tank and deliberately so because we had observed them engaging in what appeared to be breeding behavior and, at that time, breeding discus in home aquaria was regarded as a high maybe even a wizard art.

As we watched it became clear they were searching for just the right place to lay eggs because it must be a flat surface of the right consistency, etc for them to select it.  In time they did find a place they found satisfactory and the female then laid the eggs while the male made passes over them to fertilize them afterward.

That set off the alarm since, oh wow, now what do we do.  There was already some readiness since the Brine Shrimp Farm had started up in old two-liter Pepsi bottles which were sawed-off and an aerator had been added in water suitable for raising them by seeding them with eggs.  In days there were baby brine shrimp and the fry (i.e. newly-hatched fish) can eat them.  Harvesting the brine shrimp was just as annoying as you would expect it to be so that part isn't interesting; that which happened in-between was fascinating.

Discus parenting is subtle but you can watch them to see how they take care of the eggs by hovering over them, maybe because that fans water over them for some reason.  They bolt easily and may well eat the eggs if startled so everything stayed very cool in the Discus Hatchery.  The water was kept probably around eighty degrees because Discus are from around the Amazon.

Note:  there was use of a high-quality water filter but there was no UV radiation of the water to sterilize it or anything of that nature.  Water changes were done periodically but not religiously.  They seemed to do quite well in that environment.

The really fascinating part comes after the fry hatch since an almost imperceptible cloud of them will flock immediately to the nearest parent.  They hover closely by the parent because they can feed from a 'slime coat' on the parent which sustains them until they're ready for the baby brine shrimp.

We don't know, maybe science does by now, why it happens that one Discus may 'tire' of having the herd of fry following all the time.  The answer sometimes is to eat them.  Maybe they decide the environment just isn't right and, poof, they disappear almost immediately.  It's surprising to discover how much of a heartbreaker that becomes because they work so diligently to create them but then suddenly wipe them out.  This happened many times but slowly they went longer as we got the environment tuned how they like it the best.

That's still not the fascinating part since the other alternative on 'tiring' of the herd is to swim by the other parent Discus and then swim away, as quickly as possible, so the cloud of fry is left behind and momentarily confused.  Immediately they latch on to the other parent and they're not really attached, they just hover closely.  They will stay with this parent until that one 'tires' and then the repeat the process.

That behavior continues and it's really a delight since by that time we could see them growing and then it gets like this:

Flash, as always, is a horror for accurate color but the main thing is the cloud of young ones which, by this time, are taking the baby brine shrimp but still they keep hovering close to one of the parents.  Finding this kind of sophisticated behavior in creatures with brains smaller than peanuts is such an exquisite thing and sometimes it's even beautiful to watch.

Since we were relative novices to raising Discus, there were casualties and eventually the herd thinned down to the Blues Brothers.  The pictures in the blog today are not the ones we were raising although they share many similarities.

Wilson and Aretha and the Blues Brothers became, hopefully, long-term family members.  There were no children but there was always a dog, multiple cats, sometimes even birds, but never was there anything like this and we got quite attached to them.  They grew to a surprising size and this really looked like Discus Heaven.

Regrettably, there isn't a Happy Ending with this one we hope those Discus did wind up in Discus Heaven but it wasn't in the Hazel Hideaway.  We will skip the tragedy part which may sound like poetic license but it really was a crusher for both of us to see it didn't work out and they weren't going to make it.  We tried every kind of fish science we could find but it just wasn't happening.  Eventually we decided we are Shameful Discus Killers so we did not continue with it.  There's not usually a personal association with tropical fish but that came remarkably to both of us with these.

Arguing to Purpose or to Points

Science always makes more since an answered question invites ten more ... or it wasn't very good science.

Conversation to discover those questions is to purpose rather than to point and the latter is the converse of science since it will seek to resolve something once and for all.  To all knowledge here at the Rockhouse, the only points ever resolved once and for all were the Ten Commandments and you see how America and a few others frolic with Thou Shalt Not Kill to make it mean whatever they like for any given situation.

There's a case study in the recent example of SpaceX doing an exemplary job of rocket science in reaching for tall goals and achieving them.  This was taken as the glory of the private solution relative to the government solution in NASA which, first, isn't true, and, second, wasn't the point anyway.

If there's any point, it's that NASA did cool things and continues doing more of them, SpaceX gets into it and does surprisingly cool things, and wouldn't it be swell to keep going forward doing (cough) cool things.

Discussion to purpose leaves it open to whatever other cool things may come based on what we see now.  NASA continues with its Mars launcher in one of the most massive booster rockets ever designed plus the life modules to support extended rides through the solar system.  SpaceX and some others have come up in huge ways to join these missions so what possible amalgams of government and private will come and, man, how big does this thing get.

Discussion to point winds up with, 'oh, you always do that' and so on.

Mates, what do we do when we hit a statement starting with 'you always ...' in a conversation?

If you answered hang up the phone, you probably have healthy relationships in your life.  Keep any conversation in the now and it will probably be ok even if you don't like the result but it has no chance whatsoever once it starts trawling the personal past for 'evidence' of past crimes.

Legba said 'nothing is ever as good as you hope it will be' and the extension is 'nothing is ever as simple as you try to force it to be.'

Back to the top with the Ten Commandments and Thou Shalt Not Kill since that's been presented, oh, a billion times or so here on the blog but the reaction, almost invariably, is more questions than answers.

Well, is it ok to kill the bastard if he shoots my wife and also my dog while he burns my house, kidnaps my daughter by stealing my car to take her with him, knocks her up plus makes video and releases it to porno sites, and then comes around for child support to raise the baby.  I can kill him and take the baby, right?

Bathing Soon then Video

The post-surgical tub ban sucks but is necessary.  The surgical aspect is simple and mostly binary since it starts then it stops and it hurts then it doesn't.  Infection is one blazing terror with fire in its eyes and all the demons of the underworld to help it work its fiendish purpose.  After so much of it, surgery doesn't scare me all that much but infection scares the bejeebers out of me.

So ... no tub until enough healing for it.

(Ed:  you're seriously going to bitch about that?)

Nah, you missed the bitchin' about the itchin' but Yevette didn't and she's the good lady who has helped keep a slime coat on the problem areas from the last chop.  Dunno about you as pain sucks but it passes whereas itching drives me to banging my head on a wall.

(Ed:  so now you will bitch about that?)

Nah, that's what you missed.  There's been about a week or so of that itching and what's to write about that.

Hopefully today's the day to shed my skin to become a whole new snake, one smelling all Mountain Fresh, just like in the commercials.

(Ed:  is that a scent familiar to humans all throughout our history?)

Well, no, only since Dial Soap.  Yah, we know ... it probably gives children autism and we will have to check with Jenny McCarthy on that ... or not.

Numbness in my right arm is not entirely gone and it comes back to infuriate me since it's got to have an ergonomic root because the new padding has effected a huge change but still numbness comes periodically and whatever last (?) piece remains to be found is one slippery rascal.  No doubt there's great progress but there's still Some Damn Thing.

In any case, hopefully you have taken a lesson from that which has come already since this ergonomic rot is serious for anyone and it's entirely self-inflicted.  It leads me to take it more seriously since ignoring it wasn't such a good plan.

All this leads eventually to music and the main reason for an update is to keep it posted nothing stops even when it seems to go underground.  The next time playing will be with cameras running and I want it bad but can't quite have it yet.  Soon.

Special on Hillary for Prison T-Shirts (Not Sold Here)

Some shylock Web site is running a special of three Hillary for Prison t-shirts for maybe ten dollars but nine for twenty, some kind of ridiculous pricing like that.  Not surprisingly, they do some dancing in the check-out process and the price starts shooting skyward.

It may seem excessive to get nine Hillary for Prison t-shirts but we don't think so since the worst nightmare is that menace gets elected but, either way, she will end up in prison.  Bill Clinton, for the most part, got away with it but she won't, particularly when she's under a potential indictment before she ever gets anywhere near the White House.

Side-note from the Obama White House as they never entertained the presence of the Clintons during the entire time of the administration.  Inside the Beltway, the toxicity of those snakes is well-known.

The Savaging of the Clover Patch Destined to Be the Bee Zone

The clover patch wasn't exactly savaged and it will still become the Bee Zone but a gardener helping Yevette yesterday thought they were weeds so he mowed them down.  That precipitated the Saturday Clover Crisis and it was a drag because Yevette grew a whole lot of clover from seed and I've been watching ever since.  Of course she watches the patch as well and there will be questions which probably make no sense to anyone else:  have you seen how the clover patch is doing?

There's been a growing anticipation in the Rockhouse of, man, bees are really going to dig this.

Then it came .....  THWACK!!!

It sounded like a horticultural disaster but Mister Greenjeans surveyed the site and found it wasn't likely to result in another book by Rachel Carson since the clover wasn't really hammered that hard, the roots weren't touched, and garden poisons are forbidden.

Don't bring that Round-Up around here, mates, as it won't be me climbing your case but rather Yevette and you seriously don't want to make her mad about anything, most particularly that clover patch.

The Bee Zone will still come and I don't think it will take that long before the clover patch is roaring again.  It didn't quite make it to flower that time but they will flower multiple times in a season, most likely by constantly reseeding themselves and then it's a Bee Zone which will keep coming back.

Yesterday Cat and I talked about discovering as children how much bees like patches of clover and both of us did it the same way by walking barefoot in some clover.  Yep, the bees will tell you this is my ground, man.

She also told me of some scary ground now because wasps are smart in the same way as crows so they know when the plums drop from the tree, wait a little bit for them to get really good.  The result is the area around the plum tree during that part of the season is off-limits because of all the wasps.  Crows are clever in knowing fruit fallen to the ground will ferment so the whole murder will come around to get drunk.  That phenomenon is well-known and it amuses biologists / ethologists no end.

(Ed:  murder?)

Yes.  When many crows are together it's generally accurate to call that a 'flock' but the more accurate term is a 'murder' so two crows alone would be (cough) an attempted murder.

Elephants take things one better than the crows since they not only come out for a party on the fermented fruit but they plan it.  They know if they keep bumping a tree then the fruit will come down so they can come back in a couple of days with all their friends to get hammered.  I had not heard of this previously and Cat told me yesterday since it's part of a shared delight in the fascinating things animals do.

Cat loves horses and of course they're beautiful and elegant but it's the behavior most of all which draws her and it's instantly an attraction when someone is already familiar with Konrad Lorenz.

It was the same way when another friend knew off the top of his head the scientific name for Amazonian Discus and right away, yep, we can be friends.  Anyone who has such esoteric knowledge floating around in his head is guaranteed to be a curiosity.  We were friends until he disappeared in the Philippines some years ago as he went around fixing computers for a church.  That's not a statement about terrorists since his heart wasn't in good shape so he knew he wouldn't be coming back.

We're surging - a word from Bernie Sanders before California

Paris - review of the show last night with Paris Cloyd then CellShader with SaveMe Oh for visual interpretations.  Killer show.

Ride - video on the SpaceX booster as it negotiates a third successful landing

Investigation - further pursuit of the problem with spider eggs in OREO cookies

What's Hot

Hunter - getting gonzo on Letterman

Twitticisms

Med - wow - three years back for this one - one of the biggest hitters all-time for the blog

Bumping - an earlier word from Bernie Sanders

Noam Chomsky - an exceptional view of sniping in combat

We're surging in California. Help push us over the top. #BernieSanders #Bernie2016 #FeelTheBern

Thanks in no small part to your efforts on the phones last weekend, voter registration numbers in California saw a big surge right before the May 23rd deadline.
We also learned this week that – according to a poll from the Public Policy Institute of California – we're now within striking distance of a victory in California on June 7th.

Our in-state staff and volunteers are working incredibly hard for the win, but they need your help. This is the most critical weekend for us to get on the phones and identify Bernie supporters, so that next week our ground teams know which doors to knock and which voters to persuade. Can you pitch in an hour or two of your time this weekend to help Bernie win California?

If you've never called voters for Bernie before, don't worry – it's not hard. You just need a computer or a tablet, and a phone. We provide a simple script for you to follow, and dedicated volunteers are standing by on livechat to assist if you run into any problems.

Thanks to your support, we've won 21 primaries and caucuses so far this year – a result that no one would have predicted when we launched this campaign just over a year ago. California represents the biggest prize of all, with 475 pledged delegates at stake, and a victory there would send a gigantic signal to the political establishment that our movement has real staying power.

With your help, we'll keep this political revolution going all the way to the convention in Philadelphia. So we hope you can help out this weekend and sign up to call for an hour or two.

In solidarity,

Team Bernie

Ride with SpaceX on their Third Successful Soft-Landing (video)

It's still not the Jetsons with bubble cars but this is something NASA never successfully accomplished yet now SpaceX is making it as routine as space flight can ever be at this stage.

We look for the future everywhere and we won't even entertain ideas of clinging to the past when the old ways so obviously are not working.  We don't want to hear excuses but rather we want to hear substantive action plans.  Elon Musk has got one and exercises it to great success and the total amazement of doubters.  That's an obvious lead and we will take it anyway since Bernie Sanders has another one.

We want the future and we have wanted it ever since we saw NASA succeeding with the Mercury launch program in the sixties.  Let's get the hell on with it as Elon Musk sure isn't waiting ...

because ...

because ......

time waits for no-one.

Paris Cloyd Then CellShader Industrialize Cat's MusikCircus While SaveMe Oh Paints the Shows

There is no single word which represents what happened at Cat's MusikCircus in Amsterdam last night since 'industrial' fits one part but doesn't fit many other parts of the shows which were presented first by Paris Cloyd playing speed metal and then by CellShader singing iron man vocals along with visual interpretation by SaveMe Oh and Cat Boucher pulling it all together.

Paris Cloyd is possibly one of the fastest guitarists I have ever heard and Rick Derringer previously had that title but it was such a mad speed with Derringer it became not so coherent whereas Paris Cloyd plays with immaculate accuracy and clarity.  More importantly, he understands the importance of the dynamic and he brings it back from hell-raising speed to a different kind of eloquence.  The alternative is to stay to a constant thrash with a singer who sounds like he has a corn cob in his backside to keep a constant thrash roar going but that only makes the head and ears hurt while it fails every time to make music or even much of a protest.

Maybe you like to hear Paris Cloyd's music while you check out the review and you can find him on SoundCloud with "Tellurium Rapture" (opens in a different window).

The dynamic is ultra important so Paris Cloyd breaks entirely away from a constant thrash and this pic may be a bit sentimental for him but it was part of the set and, besides, we have to show you any purple guitar.  This one is a B.C. Rich, a favorite of speed players, and you can hear the result in the astounding precision in Cloyd's play.

Then SaveMe started to save Paris Cloyd and she never tries to save musicians she does not think can be saved.   If you are simply bound and determined to play mainstream then it's not likely you will see much of SaveMe Oh and you see where she will show.  Her visual interpretations of the music are real-time and they don't come from a pre-packaged set of whizzy lights or lasers from a music store; she makes them herself.

If you look closely at the green snakes growing away from the center, all of them are covered in binary.  Perhaps she means computers but it's insulting to tell you what to see and it's offensive to SaveMe since she never does; she presents her art along with that of the musician and, from both, make of it what you will.  Hopefully you see, understand, and you dig it.

Here the set evolves further and Paris Cloyd seeks all the time to evolve since he often works dual stream shows with singers.  There were comments before these shows started about match making and of course that's why Cat does it as she brings two great talents together so let's see what happens.

What happens?

What happens???

This happens!!  Multi-dimensional music traveling at the speed of light and exploding into a million stars.  You just ain't goin' see that when someone sits about covering Neil Young songs.  We don't just want original, we revel in it.

After that blazing first set, enter CellShader, and I had heard one promo song from him previously which stunned me with surprise at the power he pulls with his voice.  However, that immediately invites questions and the first is does he sing in other styles for kind of a comprehensive sound or does he pound his voice singing hard-core for a one-hour set and then collapse into a pile of pre-cardiac rubble.

CellShader goes with a wide-open style and he can get as industrial as you please but his voice has remarkable quality and range.  He can swing from destroying the factory because of the evil pigs who run it all the way through to beautiful and convincing love songs.  His voice is young and strong which adds a vibrant depth to whichever style he approaches.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Cell's music is the changes within any of his songs.  Any song except a monochordal groove will have chord changes but Cell chooses unusual ones which immediately raise the musical interest of the song because the mind alerts, oy, oy, what's happening here.

Some of his music may get tagged alternative but that labeling is dismissive since it's alternative to what.  There has been an alternative branch of music but there didn't seem to be many alternatives within it and there is no indication CellShader accepts any kind of constraints, restraints, anything of that nature in his music.  He's almost entirely self-taught and he said much of what comes is from intently listening.  That surprised me since usually the ones coming up with the most interesting changes have formal musical education behind them but CellShader put this together on his own.

Note:  Cell had a specific reason for working out his music on his own.  He's obviously highly-intelligent and he has a sister who did work for formal musical training but he didn't see her finding satisfaction in that or at least not the kind he hoped to find.  He did it his own way ... and his own way kicks ass.

Most of the pics catch him from the same angle and that's because your roaming photog was trying to capture at least a glimpse of his eyes.   Meanwhile, the images behind him are from SaveMe Oh since she was trying valiantly to save CellShader, just as she had with Paris Cloyd.

The pictures are only a taste of the excitement in this show and the entire evening as Cat looks for this kind of musical homogeneity which doesn't at all mean the musicians have to be the same but rather the music flows and grows through the entire show.  That worked last night about as well as it ever could in the online world.

Cat and I danced while rest of the audience danced as they chose; it was actually much larger since the shows were well-attended but the picture doesn't show that so much as the focus on Cat who was really diggin' it.  Everything was clicking since the performers came ready to play so there were no technical foul-ups and the music roared for two hours into der Nacht in Deutschland.  (It was still daytime here in Fort Worth but it was well after midnight before the show closed in Germany)

Investigation of Spider Eggs in NABISCO OREO Cookies Made in Mexico

After repeated reports of excessive numbers of spider eggs, undercover investigators were dispatched to review production processes at NABISCO's plants for making OREO cookies in Mexico.  The FDA spokesman, however, did not reveal just how many spider eggs it is expecting to find in OREO cookies made in Mexico under normal circumstances.

Undercover investigators, Juan Episcopo and Manuel Rodriguez, discovered it was common practice and an amusement with workers in the NABISCO plants to plant packages of spider eggs in the mix for the sugary icing used in OREO cookies.  They laughed and said, "Los chicos reciben la proteína hoy en lugar de basura!"

(Translation:  the kids get protein instead of junk today!)

The shocking findings of the detectives was presented to the major news networks but they were rejected on various procedural grounds.  The report was deemed unimportant relative to vital political contests and therefore not newsworthy by one network.  Another dismissed it out of hand and said they would accept investigative reports only if they were prepared by Americans.  In short, there was general lack of acceptance by the major networks but none of them argued against the facts in the report, all objections were secondary to that.

You can help in this effort to protect the children by protesting to the FDA immediately regarding your concern about the lack of action regarding the spider eggs in OREO cookies made in Mexico.  The ongoing scandal threatens the health of every child in America and possibly around the world, as far as OREO cookies are available.

Stand with us now, please, to protest and GET THE SPIDER EGGS OUT OF OREO COOKIES!
