What About the Music

We could tell you it's hard but you know about hard already in your own life.  Can you dig it, Face?

Yah, I knew that you could.

Every musician has the eternal neurosis over whether the music is any good and you've just got to suck that one up.  The physical aspect, well, that's hard too.  We aren't going to detail that because you know it's hard when your corpus don't work right.  Can you dig that, Face?

Yah, that's right.  I knew that you could.

We're concerned about spinning things because we do it a lot.  That's a lot about disguising the corporeal aspect but the disguise may be too good.  The spin can create the impression there is no corporeal aspect and that's not such a swell thing.

The spinning can cause problems because locating distractions captures me within the distractions and then cop syndrome comes down.  When you only see bad guys, everyone is a bad guy.

Note:  that's nothing new as Wambaugh wrote about it years ago.  One of the problem with being a cop is the endless stream of nasty bastards and it warps your thinking.

There's nothing particular to say about the news today anyway because most of the news I saw was just manufactured product made of Legos, particularly from Washington.

There is a better distraction but people don't seem to get off too much on drifting scientific around here.  It's ok as a big part of doing it is to discover if anyone else is interested by such things and it's not a personal defeat because the only personal thing is the music.

(Ed:  so, where the hell is it?)

It's not in Benghazi.  After all this time, it's clear there's nothing in Benghazi.  It was important in WWII (shrug).  So was Tobruk.  Maybe Washington will learn that one too someday.

And that's yer effect, Face.  Can you dig that?

I knew that you could.

(Ed: turn off the fucking news!)

You know it ain't that easy, young warrior.  There's a lunatic news frequency which is carried on multiple channels and visual media and people are hypnotized by it.  Some of them are out there burning Planned Parenthood clinics, others are burning churches.  They get hypnotized by looney crazy in all this madhouse news and they go off lighting fires.

It gets overwhelming, Face.  Can you dig that too?

I knew that you could.

No, man.  No, I ain't goin' light any fires.  It breaks my heart seeing other people light them.  I know you can dig that, Face.  Don't you wish everyone did.

That's why music and that's why it's hard, Face.  I know you can dig that.
