Anticipating complete bullshit, I wasn't disappointed. The title changed in the article as the let's be honest part was just a teaser. (CNN: Why are we really interested in Caitlyn Jenner?)
Right away the story starts losing credibility as it refers to Jenner as a 'major Hollywood figure.' My only perception of Jenner is a super jock, got himself as a man on a box of Wheaties, and made a bunch of little Jenners. I'm not aware of him or now her developing a talent for singing, dancing, or doing much of anything. At least Paris Hilton is a richie who tried to sing.
The Vanity Fair is not groundbreaking as it's no more than the front for the reality show and was more than likely greased up and down by the network wanting to hype the show. That this was breaking news sixty years ago is irrelevant to them as one thing you can be sure you won't see on the show will be any kind of respect for Christine Jorgensen, the woman who really did break out first ... sixty years ago.
With that lantern jaw and those broad shoulders, Caitlyn Jenner is feminine like someone from the NFL. Even Photoshop can't make a linebacker hot.
Honesty, my dyin' ass. It's the Jenner / Kardashian way to make a cheap carny hayride out of most intimate aspects of human relationships. That won't do anything to desensitize a culture but it makes a shitload of money for people with no discernible talents for anything else. The revolting part is people are willing to watch and it's hard to miss when this crap is on every front page on the planet. Jenner comes on like she invented it. Kee-rist how banal.
