Yosemite 10.10.3 - No Crash When Internet Not Connected

The iMac stayed up for well over twelve hours with eight or nine applications running but without a connection to the Internet.

Safari has been a suspect but the iMac even crashed when Safari wasn't running and frequently would crash as soon as the Finder window displays and before anything else is started.

It seems the problem is more fundamental and it relates to Internet access specifically rather than the applications which use it.

The follow-on test was to connect the iMac directly to to the modem and the purpose to determine if the source of Internet troubles is the router.  However, this test did not work as I couldn't connect.  I plugged the same cable into the laptop and it couldn't connect either.  I'm not sure why that did not work and will talk to Chuck about it later.

Meanwhile there's another little problem.  Nothing on the desk is where it is supposed to be because the computers aren't where they are supposed to be.  A can of Pepsi near the iMac's keyboard cheerfully wound up dispensing itself to the keyboard.  I immediately hosed it off under a water faucet but it has troubles and now it's outside trying to dry.  Now when anyone asks what kind of bug is troubling my computer I will be able to say specifically:  ants.
