The USS Andrew Jackson, the US Navy's newest ship and the largest destroyer ever:
Andrew Jackson was, arguably, the worst of American Presidents due to his fiendish way of pursuing Manifest Destiny. The Cherokee Trail of Tears is just one of the evil things which took place under his Presidency and with his full knowledge and support.
The best thing which could come for America's reputation and integrity is for this monstrosity to sink before it ever gets out of the harbor where it can tarnish America's name elsewhere. The Navy finally managed an even worse choice in naming after the Reagan and Bush vessels.
When there are so many good examples of Americans in history, it is a five-alarm inferno of arrogant racism to use Andrew Jackson to represent anything except the worst of American racists (e.g. Donald Trump supporters).
