Munich has the highest cost of living of any city in Germany and it's the biggest city in Bavaria. Living in Munich is obviously not possible but there are many much smaller places in Bavaria. The advantage of Munich is you need it for any big-ticket RL gig but not if your purpose is to do what I do in a solo act. Any place with a house P.A. and I can be ready to play in minutes.
(Ed: why not do that in America?)
The vibe here is far, far too hostile. Too many angry people with guns and pissed off about things they don't even understand. Very bad vibe.
(Ed: better to go to Germany and be the first kills in a nuke war?)
First or last ... what difference does it make.
Before getting tactical, there's strategy as Barcelona is one of the coolest places on the planet. Yevette speaks some Spanish, I have a tiny bit of it, but Cadillac Man has at least tourist-level comprehension and maybe better than that. There are hippie colonies in abandoned villages in Spain (also in Italy and likely other countries as well). Some of them are state-supported insofar as you commit to spending X on improvement within two years or so and you can have a house for exceptionally small money.
If you talk about hippies in U.S., they will turn up their noses but love is still alive in Europe. I've seen it at Bussana Vecchia (Italy) and that's just one of them.
Barcelona has a high rating as just listen to Cat talk about the city sometime. As with Munich, living there is probably expensive but living inside a city isn't any plan of mine. I have not been to Spain so hell yes I'm curious.
Cadillac Man, I'm sorry there is still no Skype but the details are still boring and it's tomorrow before any chance of news on the iMac. Nevertheless, I hope we can talk soon to find if you're interested in some wandering. We were pretty good at it a long time ago and I know I still love it. Yevette is good at it too as she and a friend hopped planes all over the country for a while. She's kind of sand-bagged just now but it's possible to break out.
I'm thinkin' bro movie. Kids thought it was cool to 'boogie til you puke' but I'm thinking, screw that, go for the big prize with party til you die (larfs).
