Douglas Feldman, a Most Congenial Serial Killer

Douglas Feldman is the most interesting and likable serial killer I have ever seen but keep in mind through the interview that he really is a psychopath.  Listen for even the tiniest shred of remorse for what he did.

You will find he is intelligent and highly-personable and that's part of the intrigue into why his mind turned to rubbish.  He had all the ingredients to be whatever he wanted but his brain disease, most likely schizophrenia, made a dangerous lunatic out of him.

Note:  this video was shot by Wernher Herzog, one of Germany's current best directors, and he brings from Germany his non-support for the death penalty but he makes no case out of it and doing so would not have added anything anyway.

Douglas Feldman was subsequently executed and his last words demonstrate the psychopathy insofar as his only thought was to be hurtful to the last and there's no evidence of concern for the people he killed.

Douglas Alan Feldman, 55, the remorseless, highly intelligent psychopath who terrorized three North Texas counties for more than a week while he went on a shooting rampage, was executed Wednesday. And he shuffled off his mortal coil with the same venom with which he inhabited it.

According to an Associated Press reporter who attended the execution, Feldman was fidgety, his feet moving nervously beneath the sheets in Huntsville's death chamber.

In mock declamation, he recited the names of his victims, pronouncing them guilty. "I have sentenced them both to death. I personally carried out their executions," he said, AP reports. "As of that time, the state of Texas has been holding me illegally in confinement and by force for 15 years.

"I hereby protest my pending execution and demand immediate relief."

Apparently his thinking was to make a mockery of the execution and he did but the intrigue is his purpose.

Thanks for the notes on this and congeniality seems to go with multiple serial killers since Ted Bundy was good at it too.

The study of whatever broke in these people is fascinating but terrifying at once since how do I know it won't break in me as well if I do find it.
