"Sister Morphine" - Marianne Faithful (video)

The title may seem it will advocate the use of morphine but much of what came from the sixties was misinterpreted that way.  From her own life she knows the reality and now she tells you the best way she can.  There were multiple songs which seemed to be advocating hard drugs but were really warning against them.

This is a long distance from the impression she made when she was singing in the sixties and a whole lot of boys developed big crushes for her.

Note:  you did catch that was Brian Epstein doing the emcee bit from England, right?

So it goes with evolution.  We're glad she made it.


Cat got it started with Marianne Faithful because she's a big fan and there is much more to her than the early hits she recorded.  The second video was from 1965 and the first was from 2007.  She is one tough lady to have survived all that.
