HARP has some question as to whether the acronym means Human Artists Resisting PEGIDA or Human Activists Resisting PEGIDA but, either way, we have no use for PEGIDA and its racist, xenophobic behavior.
Calling on Code Pink and all who defend freedom and honesty and life to join HARP. There is no admission fee, no donation, just an agreement to resist PEGIDA, first and foremost by staying away from them.
HARP is established now as a Facebook Group with an open membership and, repeating, there are no fees. The purpose is establishing solidarity. Join us, please, in HARP (link is to the Facebook group). There is also a Facebook Page for Play the HARP and this will have extensions not seen yet.
Cat plays to hold a HARP event at the MusikCircus and she will invite performers to Resist PEGIDA, Resist Racism, and there will be no shouting nor fighting, only music. We will celebrate the life, not the fighting.
It's much too early to talk about the names of invited performers except I know I will be one of them as I'm definitely inviting myself. This is a benefit definitely worth playing.
The genesis of HARP was the conversations with Cat as both of us have been ripped down the middle by the little boy on the beach. As we talked this morning, the HARP idea came to me as a name for what to do. Right away I suggested that to Cat, mostly because I thought it was a cute way to refer to it. On hearing it, instant smiles ... let's DO this.
So we did.
As I write, it dawns on me there are other options for permanent HARP locations. One is here on the blog as page similar to the Map or the Circus Calendar at the top. The other is to create an independent page on My Duck Soup. The latter will happen and possibly the Blogger page as well. Yet another option is to create a group in Second Life.
We expressly forbid using HARP for any commercial purpose or for the collection of money. This is about peaceful resistance and not about any potential profit. We do not see any potential profit as all we want to see is peace. All we are saying ... is give peace a chance.
